LES PYRAMIDES – LE NOUVEAU MONDE
CONVENTION AND MEETING ROOMS

Assignment :
We were taken on to re-organise the « Nouveau Monde » area in order to :

• Increase the surface area
• Create views over the landscaped park
• Render the space flexible in order to be able to host receptions and shows

The area comprised an open space of 1 200 m² with an under-beam hight of 20 metres.  We designed a stage area in the centre of the room, surrounded by several other areas on different levels, each covered by a destructured wooden canopy partially comprising the vertical walls.

On one side of the room, we created a giant bar.

On another side of the pyramid, we imagined the view over the park as an extension, like a prism with floor-to-ceiling plate glass walls.

As well as enlarging the surface area, we envisaged the creation of an opening in the roof in order to create an interior patio like a Japanese garden, allowing natural daylight to flow into the space.
